Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE)

The primary objective of Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) is to increase awareness and understanding of potential risks posed by mines and explosive ordnance.

Safety messaging is delivered through direct communication during official meetings with the population (lectures, seminars, community gatherings) and informal interactions with local residents, as well as through mass media, communication channels, and the distribution of informational materials (posters and leaflets).

The EORE activities conducted by UAD personnel aim to:

  • disseminate information about the risks associated with explosive ordnance to the most vulnerable population groups using all available means of communication and information channels;

  • ensure the effectiveness of knowledge acquisition by strengthening the capacity of awareness-raising activities within territorial communities, as well as among representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions and organizations, including local authorities;

  • identify specific causes and factors that lead to risky behavior in the context of explosive ordnance contamination in Ukraine;

  • support the development and reinforcement of social norms and best practices that promote safer behavior among local populations.
