On November 5, a working meeting of representatives of national mine action operators was held in Kyiv, organized by UNAGR - Ukrainian National Association for Humanitarian Demining .
The event was held with the support and at the invitation of Ukrainian Demining Services (UDS), which provided a space for constructive dialogue.
We express our sincere gratitude to our colleagues for providing a platform for discussing issues important to the entire industry.
During the meeting, the participants discussed key aspects of the development of mine action in Ukraine — from the ethics of cooperation to technical standards and methods for estimating the cost of work.
Among the main topics of discussion:
Code of Conduct — defining the principles of professional ethics, transparency, and partnership between operators.
Qualification criteria and requirements for procurement participants — proposals for improving selection procedures in accordance with international standards.
The methodology for determining the cost of demining works is the need to take into account real costs, types of contamination, and terrain characteristics.
Standardization system (DSTU 8820) - analysis of existing inconsistencies and preparation of proposals to national standardization bodies.
Subcontracting within government programs — approaches to quality control and subcontractor liability.
UNAGR capacity development — coordinating actions, attracting new participants, and strengthening partnerships in the sector.
"It is important that communication between humanitarian demining operators becomes increasingly constructive and focused on a common result ," said Oleksiy Botnarenko, First Deputy Chairman of UNAGR.
Such meetings contribute to the formation of uniform standards, exchange of experience, and increase the efficiency of joint work on clearing the territories of Ukraine from explosive objects.
