Ukrainian Mine Action Agency joins UN Global Compact

The Ukrainian Mine Action Agency has officially become a member of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine , the world’s largest corporate initiative in the field of sustainable development . This is an important step that confirms our commitment to the international principles of humanitarian demining , the protection of human rights, and the restoration of community safety.

What is the UN Global Compact and why is it important?

The UN Global Compact is an international initiative that brings together over 17,000 companies and organizations from 160+ countries around the world. Its members commit to 10 universal principles that cover:

• protection of human rights ;

• decent working conditions ;

• environmental protection ;

• the fight against corruption .

For Ukraine, which is facing large-scale challenges due to the consequences of the war, participation in this initiative is key. It provides an opportunity to implement the best global practices in demining territories and restoring infrastructure.

Our priorities and activities

As a national humanitarian demining operator , we work every day to ensure the safety of the population and promote the restoration of economic activity in the liberated territories.

Our key areas:

• Protecting human rights — creating safe living conditions after hostilities.

• Decent working conditions — caring for the safety and well-being of our employees.

• Environmental protection — clearing land of explosives and restoring ecosystems.

• Anti-corruption — transparency and accountability in all processes.

What we are already doing to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

• We clean up areas contaminated with mines and explosive remnants of war (ERW).

• We help communities return to a safe life.

• We teach mine safety and support inclusive education.

• We create jobs for veterans , helping them adapt to peacetime conditions.

Our contribution to the future of Ukraine

Joining the UN Global Compact opens us up to the international community, partnerships and new opportunities to implement effective solutions in the field of humanitarian demining in Ukraine . It also helps strengthen our work towards achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to creating a safe and sustainable future for Ukraine .
